Daniel E. Penni was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of Digital Angel on February 1, 2012. He has served as a director of Digital Angel since March 1995 and as Chairman of the Board of Digital angel since July 3, 2007. From September 1988 until December 2005, Mr. Penni was employed by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE:AJG), an insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, where he served in several positions, including his final position as Area Executive Vice President. He has worked in various sales and administrative roles in the insurance business since 1969. He also served on the board of trustees of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston from 1989 through June 2006 and served as their chair of finance, corporate treasurer and chair of their audit committee at various times during his service period. Mr. Penni graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1969 from the School of Management at Boston College. |

Joseph J. Grillo is Former CEO/President, advisor to the Board, and Director of Digital Angel. Mr. Grillo, an RFID industry veteran, is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Technologies Division of Assa Abloy, AB, a publicly held global manufacturer in the security and lock industry. Prior to being named to head up Assa Abloy's Global Tech Division, Mr. Grillo formed and was responsible for the sales growth of the Identification Technology business unit, combining several disparate RFID and smart card businesses into an integrated world wide sales leader servicing several vertical markets with security based card, transponder and reader products. Mr. Grillo was a long-time executive and early founder of HID Global Corp., which he joined in 1993 as National Sales Manager. He later went on to assume the positions of VP of Sales, VP of Sales and Marketing and eventually COO in charge of the international sales organizations for HID. This led up to the sale of HID to current owner Assa Abloy in January 2001, upon which Mr. Grillo was named president of HID. During the 1993 to 2000 time period, he led HID sales organization in growing the company from $3 million to $92 million in annual sales. A recognized industry leader, Mr. Grillo has held positions with progressively increasing levels of responsibility at a number of industry leaders. From 1981 to 1993, he held sales and general management roles with major industry players including Security Specialists (acquired by TYCO), National Control Systems (acquired by ITI, now part of GE) and Kidde Automated Systems (eventually acquired by TYCO). |

Lorraine M. Breece was appointed Chief Financial Officer effective August 1, 2011. Ms. Breece has worked as a consultant for the past fourteen months, including performing consulting services for the Company. Prior to that time, she served as the Company's Chief Financial Officer from March 2008 to June 2010, as acting Chief Financial Officer from March 2007, and in various finance related roles with the Company, including Chief Accounting Officer, since April 2000. Ms. Breece began her career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Florida Atlantic University and is a licensed CPA (inactive) in Florida. |

Patricia Petersen joined Digital Angel as General Counsel in September 2006. Before coming to Digital Angel, Ms. Petersen was Sr. Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Hollywood, FL-based Technical Olympic USA, Inc. Prior to that position, she spent two years as Assistant General Counsel of Corning Incorporated. She also spent eight years in Bucharest, Romania as Managing Partner of Nestor Nestor Kingston Petersen, a law firm she co-founded in 1992. Before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Petersen spent several years with Ernst & Young LLP as a member of its Governmental Services Consulting Group. Ms. Petersen graduated summa cum laude with a BA from the University of Texas and cum laude with a Juris Doctorate degree from the Harvard Law School. Ms. Petersen is a member in good standing of the Washington State, American, and Bucharest Bar Associations. |

The Board of Directors is elected by stockholders to safeguard their interests in the long-term success of the Company, its businesses and its financial strength. The Board selects and oversees the senior management team, and serves as a prudent fiduciary for stockholders. The Board serves as the ultimate decision making body of the Company, with the exception of those matters reserved for stockholders.
